Despite the weeks of rain and flooding impacting the Mid-North Coast and Port Macquarie in the last few weeks, tree removal works are now nearing completion at the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital site.
Over the coming week, our contracted arborists Port Tree Fella will be on-site to grind stumps, mulch, and carry out final clean-up works. Retained trees will be tagged and protected as part of our ongoing conservation efforts.
We expect all tree works to be completed by Tuesday, 17 June.
Our fencing contractor is also beginning work on the boundary fence with 164 Lord Street. Once installed, this fence will help provide privacy for our koalas in rehabilitation.
Koala Conservation Australia (KCA) is currently finalising negotiations with a builder, and we look forward to sharing an update in the coming weeks.
Thank you once again to all our neighbours and the local Port Macquarie community for your continued support and patience during this significant time of transformation for the Koala Hospital.
