Save the Date | National Koala Conference 2026
Learn moreSince the last national conference in 2023, our knowledge of koalas and their habitats have deepened.
Advances in monitoring technology, progress in disease management, and bold initiatives in breeding and translocation are reshaping koala conservation. Combined with tireless efforts in rehabilitation and grassroots action, this momentum sets the stage for the 2026 National Koala Conference.
The conference will bring together researchers, wildlife carers and practitioners, and policy makers to share these developments. And for the first time ever, the National Koala Conference will be live streamed around the world!
The challenges for koalas persist – so what’s next? -
Guula Gallery Exhibition | Cheryl Maree Art
Learn MoreCheryl Blacklock is a local artist working from her studio in Bonny Hills. Cheryl’s creative journey began in the aftermath of life-saving brain surgery.
Cheryl has found strength and healing through art. Daily art therapy life is now a pathway to express emotions beyond words. Cheryl channels resilience and renewal into her work.
Cheryl works with a wide range of mediums, including acrylics, oils, charcoal, pastels, and graphite, creating pieces that can be both bold and subtle, soft and strong, reflecting her personal journey of adaptation and self-discovery.
Cheryl’s work merges between expressive portraits hovering on the cusp of realism and stylised abstraction to muted earthy landscapes overlayed with layers of luscious texture. Cheryl has exhibited in a number of exhibitions and has been a finalist and prize winner in multiple Art Prizes in NSW.
