Campbelltown Ella was rescued by WIRES and brought to Port Macquarie Koala Hospital to live out her days in care and comfort after being assessed by a Wildlife Veterinarian. She has some neurological deficits, possibly from being hit by a vehicle, which affects her climbing and normal function. Although her injuries don't cause her pain, they prevent her from being released back into the wild. However, her gentle nature has made her a delight to care for.
Ella's unique silver-grey fur, especially the wisps on her ears, adds to her popularity! Her story highlights the impact of human interference on koala habitat, reminding us of the importance of preserving wildlife for future generations.
