We’re pleased to share the latest update on the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital Redevelopment, with work continuing to progress well and remaining on schedule for completion in 2026.
Over the past month, the project team has achieved several key milestones, including:
- Advancing major slab pours and in-ground works, and ordering all structural components for the new hospital.
- Lodging a minor modification to the Development Application, primarily relating to adjustments to windows and doors.
- Progressing the Review of Environmental Factors for works on National Parks land, which is now undergoing formal review.
- Continuing the detailed design of the Visitor Experience, on track for completion later this month.
- Looking ahead, the coming weeks will see further exciting progress. The structure is expected to be up by mid-November, marking a major milestone as the new hospital becomes visibly recognisable.
The overall project remains on schedule, with strong performance across risk controls and safety. Koala Conservation Australia, AW Edwards, and our project partners sincerely thank our neighbours and supporters for their ongoing patience as we work to deliver a world-class koala care and education facility for the community.
